Description

Site-level records for mining and metals facilities worldwide from the ICMM Global Mining Dataset v1.5, released July 2026. Each row is a mine, smelter, refinery, plant, steel plant, or combined facility, with a unique site ID, name, latitude and longitude in decimal degrees (WGS 84), asset type, primary and secondary commodity, additional commodities, and a confidence rating based on source verification. Sites within 2.5 km were clustered, with contributing names retained in the group names field. The public release covers 7,104 of the 12,000 facilities in the full dataset, excluding single-source S&P entries. Source: ICMM Global Mining Dataset v1.5, July 2026.

General Description

This dataset appears to contain information about mining sites, including their coordinates, asset type, country, region, and commodities extracted. The specific details provided suggest that it may be related to gold mining in South America, with a focus on Venezuela and Colombia.

Data Quality Insights

The quality scores indicate that the dataset is generally complete (100%) and unique (100%), but has some validity issues (90%). The overall score of 92.03/100 suggests that there are minor inconsistencies or errors in the data.
